On September 16, 2015 at approximately 11:05 pm, Plattsburgh Police responded to the industrial complex off Wall Street in the City of Plattsburgh for a report of an individual who had been assaulted with a knife. Responding Officers identified the victim as Ryan Grigware (22) of 57 Clinton Street, Plattsburgh. The suspect had fled the area prior to the arrival of the Police.
Through their investigation, Detectives identified the suspect as Seth Adolfsen (32) of 7 Hilltop Way, Plattsburgh. Investigating Officers learned Grigware and Adolfsen, who were known to one another, became involved in an altercation as Adolfsen was walking home from work. During the altercation, Adolfsen allegedly stabbed Grigware multiple times in the upper leg/thigh area with a folding knife. After the assault, Adolfsen fled on foot; however, Grigware was able to call Police.
Grigware was transported to UVM Medical Center, CVPH where he underwent emergency surgery for the stab wounds to his legs. Adolfsen was later located at his Hilltop Way residence and taken into custody. A search warrant was executed at 7 Hilltop Way on Thursday where several articles of evidence relating to the assault were located.
Seth Adolfsen was charged with one count of Assault in the Second Degree (Class C Felony) and one count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree (Class D) Felony. He was arraigned in Plattsburgh City Court on Thursday evening and remanded to the Clinton County Jail in lieu of $40,000 bail/ $80,000 bond.
