News Item: Plattsburgh man arrested after attack with knife

On September 5, 2015 at approximately 8:12 pm, Plattsburgh Police responded to 118 Sailly Avenue in the City of Plattsburgh for a report of an individual who had been assaulted with a knife. Responding Officers identified the victim as Samuel Lepore (41) of 118 Sailly Avenue. The suspect fled on foot prior to the arrival of the Police. Through their investigation, Detectives identified the suspect as Christopher Morgan (45) of 396 Margaret Street, Plattsburgh. Detectives learned LePore and Morgan became involved in an argument after drinking together for several hours that afternoon. During the argument, Morgan stabbed LePore one time in the upper chest with a folding knife and then fled on foot. After the assault, neighbors called 911. LePore was ultimately transported to UVM Medical Center, CVPH where he was treated for a puncture wound to his upper chest and lacerations to his hands. Morgan was later located at his Margaret Street residence and taken into custody without further incident.
Christopher Morgan was charged with one count of Assault in the First Degree (Class B Felony) and one count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree (Class D) Felony. He was arraigned in Plattsburgh City Court on Sunday Morning and remanded to the Clinton County Jail.
